Here’s a pretty funny story coming from the DEA press release room. Drug dealer Eduard Nunez was arrested in Newark, New Jersey, for get this – “Misuse of Official Government Insignia”. I guess in Nunez’ feeble attempt at irony, he placed DEA symbols on all the baggies he was planning on using to package and sell heroin. Well I guess irony bit him in the ass the other day when the inter-government agency VEST Team came a knockin’. In Addition to the government insignia charge, agents seized 1 kilogram of heroin, cash, ammunition, and a laptop from Nunez’ residence.
Gerard P. McAleer, SAC for the DEA New Jersey Division stated, “As the saying goes “imitation is the best form of flattery,” however, we are not flattered by traffickers duplicating our agency seal on their poison.”
Working in conjunction with the Newark Police Department, the DEA raided NUNEZ’s residence in the early hours of July 31, where heroin glassine bags (used to package heroin) were found that contained the official DEA Agency emblem. The residence was also used as a heroin mill.
Word to bad guy, drug dealers – If you’re dealing drugs, just be happy that you haven’t gotten caught yet. When you do get caught, don’t complicate matters by thinking you’re funny and mocking the guys who have the power to lock you up and ruin your business.
Here’s the official DEA press release.
